Pacific BioEnergy

Our Business

Pacific BioEnergy is a private company established in 1994 with corporate offices in Vancouver, BC and operations in the heart of British Columbia’s forest region — a region which is well recognized for its sustainable forestry practices. We are a leader in wood pellet fuel in North America and are committed to meeting growing worldwide demand for this clean energy source. With our significant asset base, solid relationships and outstanding international reputation for excellence, Pacific BioEnergy is positioned to take advantage of the expected strong growth in demand for wood pellet fuel over the coming years.

Well-established and Respected Manufacturer

A Canadian pioneer in the manufacture of carbon-neutral wood-based pellet fuel, Pacific BioEnergy was the first producer on North America's west coast to enter the overseas bulk commercial market. Today, we sell wood pellets as a fuel replacement for coal in coal-fired electricity generation plants, under long-term supply contracts with leading international electric power producers.

Our ability to manufacture a consistent, high-quality product and to efficiently manage transport logistics, has cemented our international reputation for consistently delivering excellence in the production, storage and delivery of high-quality, carbon-neutral wood-based biomass.

Secure, Long-term Fibre Supply

Pacific BioEnergy’s long-term fibre supply management strategy ensures our ability to meet growing global demand well into the future. Our operations and future developments are supported by:

  • Medium to long-term contracts with leading forest product companies for sawmill residuals;
  • Medium to long-term contracts with logging contractors for forest residuals; and
  • Forest licenses allowing for the harvest of significant volumes of timber per year, including one of the largest forest licenses ever issued in British Columbia. In addition to providing a stable fibre supply, these licenses position us to effectively utilize a major Mountain Pine Beetle-killed wood resource.
